My Love Affair with Quinoa Continues

The other day I was at Dad’s Nutrition/Organic Market here in Saskatoon to pick up some Bragg’s Liquid Aminos (FYI: it’s cheaper there than even Superstore $8.99 vs $11.99) and spied something new that I hadn’t seen there before – Quinoa Cereal.

So, of course, I had to buy it. It’s a puffed quinoa cereal with cocoa flavor. The coolest thing ever (to me anyways) is that this product has 3 ingredients only. Just three. Organic quinoa, organic cane syrup and organic cocoa powder. Compare that to other cereals – especially those that are marketed as healthy and high in fibre and you’ll see why this is impressive to me.

I ate this for breakfast today. It’s quite tasty and not exactly what I was expecting. The cocoa flavor was quite intense though not super sweet. Kind of liked that it turned my almond milk chocolaty too. Reminds me of that time I was at a slumber party and we had Coco Puffs for breakfast – something I would never have been allowed to eat normally. (Coco Puffs burned my mouth if I recall correctly.)

Overall I liked this cereal quite a lot. It’s light and airy, even has a faint smell of uncooked quinoa – that grassy smell I sometimes catch a whiff of – and I didn’t find it overly sweet which is a huge plus to me.

I’ll buy it again for sure.

GoGo Quinoa has a huge line-up of gluten-free and vegetarian/vegan products and I can’t wait to try some more of their stuff.  I saw a package of their Quinoa Burger mix and next time I’ll give it a try. It’s vegan and gluten-free because it uses quinoa and amaranth.  Interesting …

    I’m trying to find the recipe using GoGo Quinoa Coco Puffs.

    I think that you added chocolate to it.

    Would love the recipe.

      Hi Megan,

      I am not 100% sure what recipe you’re referring to. I wish I had come up with a recipe using the quinoa puffs and unless I’m completely absent-minded (not ruling that out completely LOL) I don’t believe I have the recipe you’re asking about.
