Hello, My Name is Sophie

We have a new addition to our fur-family!

I’m excited to introduce to you all our new little girl, Sophie!

Me with Sophie and Kannon (and the smudge in the corner is actually a friend’s dog Ellie who we were dog-sitting)

We adopted Sophie almost two weeks ago and she’s settled into our home very well. There’s a lot we don’t know about Sophie – her exact breed, her age, and what she’s been through until she was found running in and out of busy traffic by a kind-hearted vet assistant.

What we do know about her is that she has a beautiful disposition. She loves to cuddle as much as she loves to play and wrestle with Kannon. She has piercing ice blue eyes that are so blue sometimes they look white. She has an intelligent look and a happy smile.

We weren’t planning on getting another dog for a while but when my vet told me that Sophie needed a happy home and I saw her little face I couldn’t resist. After just a little bit of convincing Levi we went to get her. (Honestly, I expected Levi to say no, and am still surprised he agreed fairly readily.)

Sophie has a few quirks we need to work on. She is a counter-surfer and likes to climb fences and run out the front door if it happens to be open. I don’t think she’s had a lot in the way of obedience training and so we’ve started on some basics with her already.

She is fascinated by Kato (the cat) and Kato can’t be bothered to give her the time of day.

So far we are very happy with Sophie and look forward to many adventures with her in our family.

    Hi Megan…Sophie is adorable!

Really I’m just popping in to say thank you, thank you, thank you for this awesome blog. Our son is allergic to eggs, dairy, and gluten (and also nuts, lentils, and chick peas, GAH), and with my husband being a vegetarian, we were kind of thinking he’d never eat anything ever again. And here is your lovely blog chock full of recipes that we can eat as a family! I really appreciate you sharing your mad cooking skillz. Lord knows I am a frozen-chicken-nuggets kind of cook so I need all the help and guidance I can get :).

Lynn you just made my day! I am so happy that you’ve been able to find inspiration and ideas from my blog. I can’t imagine adding lentils, chickpeas, and nuts into the mix of allergies! I am a food lover and so have this crazy notion of proving to the world that eating happily and satisfyingly on a restricted diet is not boring and difficult – and in fact can be quite the opposite!

Glad you stopped by, and thanks again!

      Cheers!
      ~Megan
