{product review} So Delicious Coconut Almond ‘Ice Cream’ Bars

I’m going to share with you one of our most favorite treats. So Delicious Coconut Almond Bars. These are so good.

I think they’re probably a lot like the Häagen-Dazs Vanilla Almond Bars. But even better because they’re gluten-free and vegan – and made with coconut milk!

The ice cream tastes just like what you’d find in regular chocolate-coated ice cream bars. But it’s the crunch I love.

Now keeping in mind that I rarely eat treats like these … and especially rare is it when I purchase a treat from the store, I can’t truthfully say these are healthy just because I bought them from the ‘health food’ aisle at my supermarket. But, by now you’ve probably accepted that not all gluten-free and vegan things available on the market are actually ‘good for you’. But hey, as a treat, once-in-a-while I think is just fine.

Now tell me that doesn’t look like those fancy ice cream bars from Häagen-Dazs!

And as you may have expected, I took a picture of me eating it. But, it turns out I don’t look that good eating food, just standing beside it. I am telling you – it was the most heinous picture ever. So instead you get another silly picture of me posing with the ice cream bar. Because it’s what food bloggers do, right? We pose with food. Take pictures of food. Post about food on all our social networks.

So anyway, let me get back to the ice cream bars. Or at least this picture of me posing with one.

megs with an ice cream bar

This is the kind of stuff I tweet from my personal account @meganlust. I actually said that to Levi before uploading the picture of me posing with the ice cream bar. He practically begged me to tweet it. At least he thinks I’m funny.

In closing, try these coconut milk ice cream bars. They are tasty. They come in a pack of four. I think we paid around $5.49 for them. They’re called mini but they seem like regular sized ice cream bars to me.

Have you found any sweet treats for hot spring/summer days that are vegan and gluten-free? Share them with us please!

These are great, glad they aren’t bigger- they are super rich!

Not sure if you can get these up your way or not…. “Hail Merry” Tarts. They are gluten free, vegan, and raw. They have lemon, chocolate, and chocolate mint in the refrigerator section at our local Whole Foods and run about $3.79 per tart.

They also have macaroons that my husband gets and says they are great.

Not necessarily a summer treat, but since they have to be kept refrigerated- they are awesome for warm days, and taste so good cold. I even freeze them and eat them that way.

    Here’s a link to their website: http://www.hailmerry.com/

Thanks for sharing that site with me Grae. I checked it out. Their stuff looks really great. The macaroons look a lot like the Snakaroons I found locally. Have you had the Snakaroons? Are they similar? I love those things.

I went out to get some of these because you recommended them (I miss Crunch bars!), and WOW! Thanks for the review!

Eeek, not sure how I missed your comment until now. But yes, I can see how these would be a hit with the kids. They’re definitely a hit with me … but then again, I am basically a kid on the inside still. ;-) Cheers!
